It is Ash Wednesday. The beginning of the Lenten Season. It's a time to reflect, refrain, and refresh yourself and your spirit. For many people, this is more a time of new beginning than the almost always unsuccessful New Year's resolution.

According to a sleep expert, there is a way that you can actually help yourself begin your day in a better frame of mind and even more energized to start your day. We all know a positive start usually leads to a better outcome.

This is actually an easy process for you to accomplish and to remember. If you can simply remember the phrase "Rise Up".

Rise Up is an acronym for six steps to a better beginning of each day.

The "R" stands for "refrain" as in refrain from hitting your snooze button.

The "I" stands for "increase" as in increase your morning activity.

The "S" stands for "shower". It's a great way to begin the day refreshed

The "E" stands for "expose" as in exposing yourself to sunlight, it matters.

The "U" stands for "upbeat" as in turn on this radio station and enjoy upbeat music.

The "P" stands for "phone" as in phone a friend, even if it's just to say good morning.

True, it's a new way of thinking and new habits take a little while to catch on but you can do it. You've got 40 days to make this a part of your morning routine and you've got the rest of your life to enjoy the benefits.
