Natchitoches Boy Is Dead after Accidentally Shooting Himself in the Head

A 3-year-old Natchitoches boy is dead after getting ahold of a gun and accidentally shooting himself.

Neighbors heard a shot and didn't know what happened until they saw the boys mother holding him outside a home on Sabine Alley.

Alverious Demars who had been in bed with the boys mother is now charged with negligent homicide and obstruction of justice. Detectives say he faces the obstruction charge because the gun can not be found.
