My long trip to North Carolina is over and I can't tell you how nice it is to get home. It was quite a special sight to see the Shreveport skyline and other familiar sites flying into to Shreveport Regional Airport at sunset on Sunday night. My flights originated in New Bern, NC. I had to stop in Charlotte, and then to Dallas and on to Shreveport.

Charlotte has been the problem for many travelers coming from the Carolinas. Of course, air traffic has been bottled up in many of the cities in the northeast for several days.

I drove to North Carolina to bring my son a car. He is being relocated to his duty station at Cherry Point. His Sargent was such a special young man. He made sure I got on base and got checked in to my hotel. He even took me out to eat with a bunch of the guys from my son's shop and he let me ask all those "mom questions" that every mom of a Marine wants to know. What a special group of guys we have protecting our country.

This is what the Charlotte airport looked like when I flew in on Sunday:

It's just nice to be home and please keep my son and his guys in your prayers.
