Two suspected burglars are behind bars after their get-away vehicle got mired in mud.

Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator says somebody broke into Lots of Treasures, a thrift shop on Highway-1 North, around 4:30 this morning.  They backed a GMC Envoy up to the side door and loaded it with furniture and electronics.  However, when they tried to leave, their SUV got stuck in the mud and they left on foot.

A couple of hours later, a concerned citizen called the Sheriff's Office to report two suspicious men at a nearby business.  Patrol deputies were able to detain the men who had muddy shoes and muddy flashlights.  Detective Chris Daniel says prints from their shoes matched prints at the crime scene.  49-year-old John Patterson of Vivian and 61-year-old Michael Anderson of Shreveport were then arrested and booked into Caddo Correctional Center on charges of simple burglary.
