Morning Crash on Line Avenue Leaves Local Man Dead

Police are investigating a three-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a local man. At about 7:45 this morning, police were called to a major crash in the 7500 block of Line Avenue, near the intersection of Turner Lane. When they arrived, they found that a 2008 Pontiac being driven by 57-year-old Matthew Williams of Shreveport was headed northbound on Line, when Williams apparently tried to pass a Jeep driven by 27-year-old Latasha Robinson, also of Shreveport. The Pontiac hit the bumper of the Jeep, which entered the southbound lanes of Line and hit a 2006 Volvo being driven by Rachel Touchstone of Shreveport. Williams was taken to LSU Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Touchstone was also transported to LSU. Investigators are trying to determine exactly what caused the crash.
