Morganza Spillway To Be Opened
The Morganza Spillway is expected to open as early as tomorrow by the Corp of Engineers. That’s what both Iberia and St. Mary Parish Officials are saying this morning. Morgan City Mayor Tim Matte says that means the nine and half foot crest in Morgan City is expected to rise to twelve or even thirteen feet. Flood gates are already being closed along the waterfront.
