More West Nile Cases Confirmed in NW Louisiana

State health official have confirmed 36 new West Nile virus cases in Louisiana this week and one newly-reported death. Eight of the cases were the most serious neuro-invasive type with three of those reported here in Caddo Parish and one in Webster. There were 21 new West Nile Fever cases -- three in Bossier, six in Caddo, and one in Webster. And there were eight new asymptomatic cases -- including three in Caddo.
