Monroe Man Linked to Shreveport Murder Investigation

Shreveport Police Violent Crimes Detectives have an arrest warrant for a man accused in a shooting that claimed the life of a local man nearly two weeks ago.

The March 31 shooting left 34-year-old Arglister Cheatham dead. Authorities have linked 44-year-old Jake Smith III of Monroe to the crime.

A warrant charging Smith with a single count of second degree murder was signed by a Caddo Parish District Judge Monday afternoon. Bond has been set at $250,000.
