Monroe House Fire Claims 3 Lives

The State Fire Marshal’s Office was notified after Ouachita Parish firefighters responded to a residential structure fire at 2511 Burg Jones Lane shortly after 8:00 a.m., Sunday.

Investigators confirm that the bodies of three adults have been recovered from within the home. Two other adults escaped the blaze.

The identities of the deceased victims and survivors are not being released at this point of the investigation.

Investigators believe burglar bars, which were installed on the home, may have prevented the three victims from escaping the flames that subsequently destroyed the small, wood-framed home.
