Caddo Parish schoolkids head back to the classrooms Monday morning. That means school zones will once again be in effect, so don't be surprised to see greater numbers of Shreveport police officers in those areas.

Officers with the department's Traffic Bureau, and community liaison officers and patrol officers, will be out monitoring area school zones, checking for speeders and making sure everyone's following the rules when it comes to buses stopped to load or unload kids. If you're on an undivided roadway and those stop signs are out...you have to come to a complete stop, at least 30 feet from the bus, no matter which side of the road you're on.

Help keep the kids safe...and keep yourself from facing a day in court and a huge fine -- and watch for those school zones and buses this coming week.
