Modular Building Company to Bring Jobs to South Shreveport

Big economic news today in south Shreveport.  A company called Module X Solutions has announced plans to make a $7.4-million investment and create more than 350 new direct jobs at a 750-thousand square foot manufacturing facility on Benton-Kelly Road.  Module X Solutions plans to join MB Industries at the city-owned industrial property - the old Beaird Industries plant.

Module X will be manufacturing modular buildings for the telecommunications sector.  MB Industries produces protective building systems for the industrial, government, commercial, and residential markets.

The Governor's Office says Module X Solutions plans to seek a long-term lease of the site, subject to final approval by the Shreveport City Council.  According to a news release, the company will begin filling the new jobs immediately and complete renovation work by the end of 2015.
