Anderson placed in the top 10 of the 2012 Miss America Pageant held in Las Vegas. She said that the entire experience was a joy and was at her best during the various competitions. Anderson even made her own costumes for the talent show and evening gown.

I asked Anderson if she had seen the movie, "Miss Congeniality," starring Sandra Bullock. In the film, Bullock plays an FBI agent who is posing as a beauty queen who slips and falls on live television while walking out onto the stage.

I asked Miss Louisiana if that has ever happened to her. She said it hadn't, but shared a nerve-wracking incident that happened during rehearsal for the Miss America Pageant.

Anderson named dancing her main talent, but said she had quite a scare in rehearsal when her pointed shoes slid over a particularly slippery floor. "It was something that was out of my control, but during the real competition, nothing went wrong," explained the 5'1'' Miss America finalist.

Anderson plans to continue her post-graduate education, studying communications at Johns-Hopkins University. She received a $60,000 scholarship through the Miss Louisiana and Miss America Pageants.
