A touching reunion is going on this weekend. More than 100 children -- from infants through 20-somethings -- will gather at CHRISTUS Sutton Children's Medical Center for the "Miracle Babies" 34th Annual Christmas Reunion.

Sutton spokeswoman Kristin Gary tells KEEL News this event is more and more special. "The Neonatologists in the NICU really love this experience," she says. "They get to see these babies who they've helped...literally save their lives...coming back to them as toddlers, as pre-teens, and even on up to folks in their 20's, to say -- thank you for the life that you gave me."

Many of these kids are multiples, too. They get to meet with other kids like them, their parents, and the nurses, doctors and other clinical staff who helped them survive prematurity, developmental difficulties and critical illness at birth.

Gary shares one heartwarming story...

The reunion runs from 2 to 4 Sunday afternoon in the Medical Center cafeteria. It'll be decked out in winter scenery donated by the Norton family. And Santa Claus will also be stopping by for a visit.
