After recording the largest victory in half a century, Congressman-Elect Mike Johnson said he "was honored" and vowed "to serve sacrificially" as he addressed an ecstatic crowd of supporters Saturday night.

After garnering more than 60% of the vote in his runoff against Democrat opponent Marshall Jones, the conservative Republican said his win "was a team effort", and added that the people in Louisiana's 4th Congressional district are "the best in the world."

Johnson will be sworn in, along with Senate winner Republican John  Kennedy, on January 3 as a member of the 115th United States Congress.
