A $251-million mid-year deficit-reduction plan unveiled by the Jindal administration and approved by the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget will have a statewide impact.  And some of that impact will be felt right here in Shreveport.  The LSU System will have to shave $21.2-million from its budget and that's going to mean cutbacks at both the LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport and LSU-Shreveport.  For LSUHSC-S, the plan will mean a reduction of about $2.5-million.  LSUS will have to cut its budget by about $587-thousand.  In each case, that's a reduction of about 5.1-percent.  Figures have not yet been released for Bossier Parish Community College or Southern University's Shreveport campus.
