The first round of the U.S. Open started yesterday (Thursday) at The Olympic Club in San Francisco.

The sky was cloudy yesterday morning when Michael Thompson started his round. He posted a 4-under 66. His game included seven birdies and set the target for everyone else.

No one else was able to get there.

Thompson will be in front today, but there are a lot of pursuers with three regulation laps around Olympic to go.
