Methodists to Meet in Shreveport

A big weekend for Centenary College. The Shreveport campus will play host to more than 1,000 United Methodists who will gather in the Gold Dome from Sunday through Wednesday for the 2011 Louisiana United Methodist Annual Conference. During the four-day gathering, delegates from local churches throughout the state will ordain clergy, vote on church legislation, and worship together. They’ll also receive a special report on the efforts of the Louisiana United Methodist Disaster Recovery Ministry which was started in 2005. The theme for this year’s conference is “With the Poor.” Special services will be held each day of the conference.
