The Bossier Sheriff-Police Narcotics Task Force has arrested a major meth dealer following a six-month investigation assisted by the DEA Narcotic Task Force.

Agents arrested 63-year-old Johnny Beam of Bossier City, who investigators say has been dealing meth in the area for some time now. Agents say this arrest assures another drug dealer is out of business in Bossier Parish.

Beam is charged with possessing methamphetamines with intent to distribute, possessing hydrocodone, possessing controlled dangerous substances with a firearm, and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Following the execution of a search warrant at Beam's Barbara Street residence, agents seized about two pounds of meth (Ice) with a potential street value of $90,000, two firearms, $952 cash, hydrocodone pills and a 2004 Chevy Tahoe.

"I commend our deputies and officers on our Bossier Sheriff-Police Narcotics Task Force and the assistance from the DEA Narcotics Task Force," said Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington in a news release. "Getting drug dealers off of our streets to keep our families and children safe is a top priority of mine, and I applaud our team for this outstanding arrest."

The investigation continues and agents say more property seizures and arrests are possible.
