Members of Fair Park classes from the 1940's gather each month for dinner and this month's meeting was a walk down memory lane. But the focus of the night was the planned merger of their beloved high school with Booker T. Washington.

Most of these Indians are in their 80's, but they are still quite active in alumni events. They were eager to tell me about the history of the school and the many famous and legendary fellow grads.

One point that seems to puzzle them is the claim that BTW has a gym and a football stadium. But these grads say Fair Park has a gym and they use the finest football stadium in the region in Independence Stadium. They point out that the school system has to pay to maintain the BTW stadium, but now Independence Stadium.

I caught up with Cathy Bond to talk about the lawsuit recently filed by the Alumni Association and some Fair Park parents.
