Seven candidates have been named as finalists to become the next Police Chief in Shreveport. After an intense interview process, Mayor Ollie Tyler narrowed the list down from 19. Mayor Tyler is expected to announce the new Chief by the end of the month.

The finalists for the job are:

Interim Police Chief Alan Crump. Crump has served in law enforcement for 24 years. He has several college degrees including a Doctorate of Theology; Masters of Theology; Bachelor of Theology; Bachelor of Criminal Justice; and Associate of Criminal Justice.

Sergeant Janice Dailey, who has 24 years of experience in Law Enforcement.

Sergeant Rodney Horton who has served for 20 years. Sgt. Horton has a Bachelors in General Studies.

Captain Darwin Jones has worked in law enforcement for 25 years. His educational accomplishments include a Masters of Administration of Justice and Security and Bachelors of Criminal Justice

Lieutenant Greg Jones has 24 years on the job and a degree in Business.

Corporal Benjamin Raymond has been working in law enforcement for 16 years and has a Bachelors in Criminal Justice.

Assistant Chief Wayne Smith has been working in Law Enforcement for 36 years and has a couple of college degrees including a  Masters of Business Administration and Bachelors in Organizational Management.
