Mayor of Blanchard Arrested for DWI

State Police have arrested the Mayor of Blanchard and charged him with Driving While Intoxicated.

Mayor Johnny Digilormo of Blanchard was arrested early Sunday in Bossier City.

According to police, Mayor Digilormo was stopped for failing to stop at a red light just before 3:00 a.m. at the intersection of Swan Lake Road and Shed Road in Bossier City.

Officers are the scene report Mayor Digilormo showed signs of impairment. Police also say that he was texting and driving.

The mayor was taken into custody and charged with a first degree DWI and texting while driving. According to the Bossier Sheriff's Office, he also faces an open container charge and a traffic violation for running the red light.

The mayor bonded out Sunday.
