Two law enforcement officers in Marksville have been arrested in connection with the death of a 6-year-old boy.

Lt. Derrick Stafford with Marksville PD and Norris Greenhouse Jr. with Alexandria's Marshall's office have been booked on charges of murder for firing 18 shots at a fleeing SUV. The little boy, Jeremy Mardis was shot in the head and chest. The boy's father, Christopher Few was wounded and is in critical condition. Few was not armed and no weapons were found in his vehicle.

The officers have been charged with murder and attempted murder. State Police Superintendent Mike Edmonson says "this was one of the most disturbing scenes I've ever seen."

Edmonson adds: "that young man did not deserve to die like that."
