Man’s Death Being Investigated in East Texas

Authorities in east Texas are investigating the death of a man found lying in a yard this morning.

According to a news release on the agency's website, at around 8:30, Marshall police were called to a welfare concern in the 300 block of North Hazelwood Street. When officers arrived, they found a deceased male lying in the yard. He'd suffered several gunshot wounds.

The victim's name has not been released, and no suspects have been identified. Police have not said yet whether they are investigating this case as a homicide.

"The men and women of the Marshall Police Department are working tirelessly to determine the circumstances leading up to the death of this man," said Chief Jesus "Eddie" Campa. "If anyone has any information that could help us solve this case, please call our detectives."
