Shreveport police are searching for the person who shot a man in East Shreveport early Saturday.

The police issued this news release about the crime:

At approximately 6:23 a.m., on October 10, 2015, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Milam Street, relative to a shooting. Upon arrival, patrolmen learned Kevin Burns was shot by an unknown suspect in the lower body. The Shreveport Fire Department transported Burns to the University Health Hospital in the 1500 block of Kings Highway with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police tell KEEL News Burns was in his home at that location when several shots were fired at the home. Burns did not see who fired those shots. Detecties are looking for any possible witnesses who might be able to give them information about this crime.
