A man who barricaded himself in a room at the Tomball Regional Medical Center near Houston was taken into custody without incident at 10:47 p.m. Saturday.

The man was distraught about his son's medical condition and was with him in a hospital room in the critical care unit.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office previously said the man's son was a patient at the hospital. Officials say the man was threatening people in the hospital and they thought he might have been armed. However, Harris County officials learned the man had no weapons in his possession.

A negotiator was sent to speak to the man.

The hospital did not accept patients during the standoff but the lockdown has been lifted.

No injuries have been reported.
