Two men were arguing who had the better pit bull, but things escalated quickly.

The Thibodaux men broke off the heated discussion, but one of them returned with a shotgun.  Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office's Brennan Matherne said 29-year-old Nicholas Queen was arrested for allegedly shooting at the other pit bull owner.

"It was a shotgun that was fired through a car door so the door certainly shielded the victim somewhat," Matherne told the Louisiana Radio Network.  "But, he did have at least two lacerations to his upper thigh."

Deputies arrived to the scene and detained Queen.  The victim then approached the deputies and asked for assistance.  He was taken to an area hospital.

"Apparently the two men had been arguing at the victim's house over whose pit bull was better," said Matherne.  "At some point, Queen left the residence and went to his own residence and picked up a shotgun."

Matherne added that Queen then walked back toward the scene of the argument with his shotgun and allegedly shot the victim.  The victim was driving when he was shot and crashed into a truck that had three people inside.  All three suffered minor injuries.

Queen has been charged with attempted second degree murder.  No word on who actually had the better pit bull.
