Two people are in jail for signing over land belonging to a woman who's been dead for 17 years. The Caddo Sheriff's Office says 36-year-old Eugene Boyd is charged with forgery, for signing the deceased woman's name to an act of donation -- giving himself ownership of 20 acres of land in Belcher, valued at about $30,000. He was also charged with theft for taking $750 to lease the land for farming. Cecilia Conant, who was employed with the sheriff's office, is charged with forgery for creating the donation paperwork, forging two witness signatures on it, and notarizing it. Sheriff Steve Prator says Conant wasn't acting as a sheriff's office employee when she created the document...but she has been fired.
