A late-night dispute in Shreveport leaves one man fighting for his life and another behind bars.

Just before 10:15 last night, Shreveport police were called to the Kings Manor Apartments in the 7200 block of Bernstein Avenue to a report of an assault and battery. When they arrived, they found out 41-year-old Dave Delaney was hit with a blunt object multiple times in the upper body. He was taken to University Health in Shreveport with life-threatening injuries.

According to a preliminary investigation, Delaney and 29-year-old Willie Lynn got into a confrontation outside an apartment, when Lynn armed himself with a metal pole and struck Delaney several times in the head.

Lynn was taken into custody without incident. He was taken to Shreveport Police Headquarters, interviewed, then charged with attempted second degree murder. He's been booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
