A 29-year-old Shreveport man is in jail after trying to burglarize a home to get money -- to attend the State Fair. A 13-year-old home alone in the 4000 block of Gilbert Drive called his parents to tell them a strange man was outside knocking on the front door. He didn't know the guy, so his parents told him to stay inside while they called police.

When his knocks went unanswered, the prowler kicked in the back door of the home and went inside. That's when police showed up, and the man attempted to run, leaving his car in the driveway.

Not long after, 29-year-old Desmond Moore was caught.  He told officers he'd fallen on difficult times and needed money to attend the State Fair of Louisiana. He was booked into the Shreveport City Jail for burglary, possessing burglary tools and resisting an officer.
