A California man is arrested for stealing over $5,000 from his Shreveport employer.

Caddo Sheriff's Office investigators say 28-year-old Brandon Davis of Fontana, California, was employed at American Freight Furniture in Shreveport, where he was suspected of stealing five deposit bags of cash.

Prior to the discovery of the missing bags, Davis turned in his resignation and moved back to California. The investigation revealed Davis was the last person to have possession of the deposits. Detectives reviewed surveillance video, where they saw Davis leaving the business with the bags. The deposits were never recorded at the bank.

Davis was arrested when he returned to Shreveport to collect his final paycheck and belongings. He's been booked into Caddo Correctional Center on a felony theft charge.
