A man believed to have shot his wife yesterday afternoon in west Shreveport has been caught in DeSoto Parish. The shooting happened at about 6:45 last evening in the 5800 block of St. Vincent Avenue. When officers arrived there, they found 42-year-old Tracey Brown suffering from two gunshot wounds, one to the chin and one to the arm. She told patrolmen her estranged husband, 46-year-old Ronnie Smith, started following her in a vehicle as she was driving on St. Vincent, when he suddenly pulled up beside her and started firing shots. Brown was taken to LSU Hospital with non-life-threatening wounds. Detecives positively identified Smith as the shooter, and got an arrest warrant charging him with one count of illegal use of a weapon from a moving vehicle. Smith, who apparently has relatives in the Mansfield area, was arrested by DeSoto Parish authorities last night. His bond is set at $250,000.
