If you want to vote in the Saturday, March 5, election in Caddo Parish, you need to make sure you're registered.

According to Caddo Registrar of Voters Ernie Roberson, all applications must be received or postmarked by February 3 in order to be processed for the election.

Caddo Parish residents may REGISTER ONLINE by clicking on the 'Online Voter Registration' button on the left side of the screen. Applicants will need the audit code on their drivers' licenses or state IDs to register online.

Roberson reminds you that the Presidential Preference Primary is a closed party election. Only voters registered as Democrats or Republicans will be eligible to vote for presidential nominees.

The State Central Committees and Parish Executive Committees for the Democratic and Republican parties are also holding elections for their members. Voters registered as Democrats or Republicans may vote on the offices for these committee members. As it is with the Presidential Preference Primary, only Democrats may vote for Democrats, and Republicans for Republicans.

Roberson also said some voters, regardless of party affiliation, may vote on a special election for Court of Appeals Judge (2nd Circuit, 3rd District, Election Section 1A), Greenwood Mayor, or on two propositions from Fire District 8. But voters must be registered within one of these districts or towns to vote on the candidates.
