The LSU Shreveport chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management has been awarded the 2011-2012 Superior Merit award and was recognized as an Outstanding Student Chapter by the national organization of Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). The awards recognize student chapter achievements and a commitment to providing meaningful programs and services to members.

The Superior Merit award distinguishes the LSUS chapter as an outstanding organization dedicated to serving the needs of the members and to the advancement of the human resources management profession. LSUS student members will be honored at the 2012 Annual Student Conference in Atlanta, Ga. later this month.

The Outstanding Student Chapter award is given to a chapter that excels in fundraising efforts, educational events, volunteerism, social media programs and various other areas. The LSUS chapter was selected among 475 student chapters. Only 10 chapters were given this prestigious award.

Felice Williams, assistant professor of management and marketing, serves as the sponsor for the organization. For more information on SHRM, visit the LSUS SHRM student organization website.
