As many students at LSU-Shreveport were starting off their winter break, the Pilots basketball squad looked to go into their break with a "W."

On Saturday afternoon, things did not go the Pilots way as they suffered a heartbreaking 2 point loss.

Rodney Milum was a scoring machine for the Pilots, Milum posted a total of 22 points in the game.

But, the Wiley College Wildcats' Karlos Gary was able to put up more points, with 25, as Gary was the leading scorer for the 'Cats.

The Pilots had hot hands coming out of the locker room in the second half, they were 10-for-10 in field goals, not missing a shot in the first five minutes of the second half.

The 'Cats scorers were just as hot as they were 50% from three point range throughout the ballgame.

But this contest was decided on turnovers, both the Pilots and Wildcats turned the ball over 13 times. But, Wiley College was able to outscore the Pilots on turnovers 15-13.

Turnovers may have been the deciding factor in this game.

The Pilots had a chance to tie or take the lead as the final seconds of the game ticked down, but a go-ahead three pointer was missed at the buzzer.

The Pilots lose to the Wiley College Wildcats, 99-97.

The next time the Pilots will take the court at home is on January 5 at "The Dock."
