The LSU-S Chancellor Search Committee has narrowed down the search for the university's next chancellor of extremely qualified applicants to four.

The following candidates will meet with campus and community representatives, and with Dr. F. King Alexander, on the LSU-S campus between February 10th and 13th:

Betsy Vogel Boze, Ph.D.

Dr. Boze is a Shreveport native who is currently President of the College of the Bahamas. She earned a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas after receiving a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Business Administration, both from Southern Methodist University.

Dr. Boze’s previous academic appointments include Chair of the Department of Business Administration, University of Alaska Anchorage, 1989-1994; Assistant to the President, Tulane University, 2003-2004; Dean, School of Business & Professor of Marketing, University of Texas Brownsville and Texas Southmost College, 1994-2005; Senior Fellow, American Association of State Colleges and Universities, 2009-2010; Professor of Marketing, Kent State University Stark, 2005-2011; Campus Dean and Chief Executive Officer, Kent State University Stark, 2005-2009. (The AASCU position and the Tulane position occurred during leaves from her other academic duties.)

Lawrence S. Clark, J.D.

Dr. “Larry” Clark is currently Dean of the Cameron School of Business, University of North Carolina Wilmington. He earned the Juris Doctor from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics/Business Administration from Knox College (IL) and Master of Laws in Taxation from the DePaul University School of Law.

Dr. Clark’s career includes Instructor of Business Law, Northern Illinois University, 1974;
service as an officer in the Judge Advocate General’s Staff & Faculty, 1975-1978; Assistant Professor of Business Law, Northern Illinois University, 1978-1981; Professor of Business Law, LSU Shreveport, 1981-1994; Chair, Department of Management & Marketing, LSU Shreveport, 1983-1985; Dean, College of Business, LSU Shreveport, 1985-1994; Dean, School of Business and Professor of Business Law, Sonoma State University (CA), 1994-2000.

Brian R. McGee, Ph.D.

Dr. Brian McGee currently serves as Chief of Staff and Senior Vice President for Executive Administration at the College of Charleston (SC). He holds the Ph.D. in Communications from Ohio State University as well as Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Speech Communications, both from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Previous academic appointments include Chair, Department of Communication, Spalding University, 2001-2004; Chair, Department of Communication, College of Charleston, 2004-2010.

Robert C. Mock, Ed.D.

Dr. Robert Mock currently serves as Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Kentucky. He earned a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock as well as of Master of Arts in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Southern Illinois Edwardsville.

Dr. Mock’s previous academic experience includes Continuing Education Coordinator, University of Arkansas-Fayetteville/Arkansas State University/University of Arkansas at Little Rock as a part of the Arkansas Public Administration Consortium, 1995-1999; Instructor, Department of Speech Communication, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, 1999-2004; Associate Dean, College of Professional Studies, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, 2001-2004; Student Services Division Chief & Director of Recruitment and Retention, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, 2004-2007; Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, University of Arkansas-Fayetteville, 2007-2009; Associate Vice Provost for Student Affairs, University of Arkansas-Fayetteville, 2009-2010.

The public will be able to meet with each one of these candidates and ask questions. Open forums will take place on the 3rd floor of the Noel Memorial Library. Here are the dates and times each candidate will be available:

Dr. Lawrence S. Clark will be available Monday, February 10, from 5-6 p.m.

Dr. Brian R. McGee will be available Tuesday, February 11, from 5-6 p.m.

Dr. Robert C. Mock, Jr. will be available Wednesday, February 12, from 5:15-6:15 p.m.

Dr. Betsy Vogel Boze will be available Thursday, February 13, from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
