The LSU Tigers were in a dogfight with in-state foe Northwestern State at the Corvallis Regional in Oregon. The Demons were leading the Tigers headed into the 9th inning, 5-4, but the Tigers put together 5 runs in the 9th and held on to win the game, 9-5.

Shreveporter Nathan Jones, the starter for the Demons will take the loss. He played high school ball at Loyola College Prep, but this was probably the biggest game of his baseball career.

The Tigers now advance to the finals in the Regional and will face Oregon State Sunday night. The first pitch is set for 8pm CST. You can watch the game on ESPNU.

The LSU Tigers lost to Oregon State earlier in the weekend, falling 14-1 and they will have to beat the Beavers twice to advance to the College World Series. One big problem for the Tigers is pitching. They are working with a limited staff, but will likely do anything possible to get a win tonight.
