The bar may have been set too high for the LSU Baseball team this year. Not saying that they're not performing well, but sometimes this season it's felt like the team isn't playing the way the pre-season experts made them sound.

But that's not a bad thing.

The team is 7-1, dropping their only game to University of New Orleans in Nola last week, so it's not like their record is suffering. But the play hasn't seemed to gel yet. Again, not a bad thing, probably a good thing. It will probably be better in the long run for this team to hit their stride in the last quarter of the season instead of the first quarter.

Again, the team isn't BAD, but it feels like they should have put a bigger hurting on Maryland this weekend. Here's how they wrapped up the series yesterday, according to the Louisiana Radio Network:

"LSU rallied back from an early 3-0 deficit to beat Maryland 9-5 on Sunday afternoon to complete a three-game sweep of the Terrapins at Alex Box Stadium. Right-handed sophomore Caleb Gilbert earned the win as he struck out all six hitters he faced in relief and LSU took control of the game with five runs in the 3rd inning.

The Tigers improve to 7-1 on the season and return to Skip Bertman Field tomorrow when Nicholls State comes to town."
