Louisiana’s Flooded Schools Receive More Donations From Taylor Swift
Livingston Parish Schools have received more than $100,000 in donations, grants and gifts to assist teachers, staff and students with flood recovery efforts.
Superintendent Rick Wentzel says the St. Tammany Parish Public School System and their surrounding communities stepped up in a huge way.
"$42,000 in cash. $8,600 in gift cards and 30 pallets of student and teacher supplies." said Wentzel.
After donating thousands of dollars to flood damaged schools in Louisiana, Taylor Swift is helping even more students get back in the classroom.
Livingston Parish School System officials say the pop megastar is donating $50,000 to help with the rebuilding process.
“I know that many in our community are big fans of Taylor Swift’s music. I’m certain this contribution will win over more fans for her – and not just for her music, but for her kindness,” Wentzel said.
Swift has already made similar donations in Ascension Parish and Central.
Those donations from Swift come in addition to the $1 million she donated immediately after the floods.
