Louisiana Will Help Teachers Deal With New Standards
Teachers across Louisiana are quite concerned about the new accountability rules in our state. Education Superintendent John White says the state will help teachers meet the standards. White says nearly every state has adopted new guidelines which take effect for the 2014-15 school year. “Make no mistake,” White tells the Advocate of Baton Rouge, “The tests will be harder.” He also says "about 2,000 educators from across the state will serve as teacher leaders on details of how to use the classroom toolbox, details of the common core standards and how the instruction can be spread out over a school year."
