Louisiana students did not fare well on the ACT. The state came in 44th in the country overall and 13th out of the 18 states required to take the ACT. Superintendent of Education John White says that he's not satisfied with the numbers but they do show real progress for the state.

The states Louisiana beat nationally are Alabama, Hawaii, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina and South Carolina.
