Louisiana Tech University begins the new week, month, fiscal year, tomorrow with a new President at the helm.

Outgoing president Dan Reneau presented the office keys to incoming president Les Guice Friday afternoon in a simple but symbolic ceremony in the President's Office.

Dr. Reneau has been Tech's president for the past 26 years, having taken over the keys from F. Jay Taylor during a similar ceremony in 1987.   Dr. Guice was personally groomed by Dr. Reneau to become Tech's 14th President and he was unanimously approved by the Louisiana System Board of Supervisors in December of last year.

Dr. Reneau says he's looking forward to spending a lot more time with his family -- starting with a trip to Las Vegas with his wife of 52 years, Linda, to visit their son, John.  Then, the Reneaus will travel overseas to visit with their daughter, Dana, and her family.  Dr. Reneau says he plans to fish a little and then get ready for the Fall hunting season.  Eventually, the Reneaus will settle into their new Ruston home.

In the meantime, Dr. Guice and wife Kathy have begun moving into the Presidential on-campus residence at 1500 Bulldog Drive and getting settled into his new office on the 16th floor of Wylie Tower.
