Louisiana Start-Up To Announce Top Five Finalists

Louisiana Start-Up is to announce the top five finalists for their 2015 prize on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Rhino Coffee House. These finalists will go on to compete for a grand prize worth $70,000!

What is the Louisiana Start-up? According to the Louisiana Start-Up website:

We are here to help you take your idea or startup business to the next level. We offer educational events that link you with fellow entrepreneurs, mentors, and investors that will become valuable business connections. You’ll also learn the basics about starting and growing your business from professionals in the fields of marketing, legal, accounting, and more. Oh, and you’ll get the chance to compete for our $70,000 grand prize.

Our mission is to connect entrepreneurs with mentors and experts that can help them grow their business from just an idea to a successful business. We also aim to match viable startups with potential investors. Most importantly, however, the big picture is to create a thriving entrepreneurial community in northwest Louisiana.

Several local entrepreneurs have already completed the three qualifying events, and are now waiting to see who will be in the Top 5.  Startups that make it into the Top 5 Final Final will have the opportunity to present, behind closed doors, to the panel of Startup Prize Investor Judges.

Startups that make it into the Top 5 Final Final will also be invited to participate in the Startup Prize Coliseum. This public pitch contest, which takes place during Final Final weekend, allows everyday citizens to vote with their dollar and put cash directly into the venture.

One of those brand new businesses will walk away with the grand prize:

$25,000 in cash and $45,000 in services!
