New Infrastructure Report Gives Louisiana a C- Grade, Claims Roads Cost Each Driver $400 per Year
Louisiana is at the bottom of another federal list, this one grading our state on several key areas including: Water and Environment, Transportation, Public Facilities and Energy.
Here are some of the highlights -- or rather lowlights.
- Louisiana has 33 high hazard dams
- Our state needs close to $7 billion in repairs to our drinking water infrastructure
- 13 percent of the bridges in Louisiana were deemed "structurally deficient"
On the hazardous waste front, we have 9 sites on the National Priorities List. Our roads are the biggest problem on this report, which claims each driver spends more than $400 dollars on extra vehicle repairs and operating costs because of our poor road conditions.
