Our good friend and Louisiana native James Dupré made quite the debut on Season 9 of The Voice last night as he got all four judges to turn their chair.

Fans of the Bayou Chicot native had to sweat it out over the first two shows of the season and then patience got pushed even further as James was the final contestant to be shown on last night's show.

The wait was worth it. Merely a few seconds into his rendition of Hootie & the Blowfish's "Let Her Cry", not one but three of the judges hit the big button and turned their chairs. Blake Shelton was the lone judge to delay slightly but eventually would hit the switch and a recruiting battle was on.

Conventional wisdom had James going for Blake as his coach since he truly is a country singer. But the script was flipped as James went with Adam Levine.

We will continue to keep tabs on James and his quest to win the competition. We may have to wait a couple of weeks to see him on the show as the Blind Auditions will continue next week.

In the meantime, we will try to get him on-air with us for an interview so we can all find out how his experience on the show has been thus far.
