Get ready to rock because Louisiana Music Prize is going to be one heck of a show!

Another Louisiana Music Prize Festival is just weeks away, September 29 through October 1. This year is expected to bigger than ever as the Prize is bringing in some stellar talent to downtown Shreveport. This year we'll see The Polyphonic Spree, K. Flay, Beach Slang, Givers, The BlueBonnets, Kyle Craft, and more. In addition to these heavy hitters, we'll see plenty of up and coming bands duke it out in the Emerging Artist Showcase for fame and glory.

And $5,000 cash.

The winning band will also have the chance to open for The Polyphonic Spree. The Emerging Artist Showcase will take place on Thursday, September 29 at VooDoo Cafe beginning at 6:30 p.m. Five bands will be selected from those who submitted their work to compete on the stage. Guest judges will determine the winner.

If you're a music head, you definitely want to check out the Industry Panel and Networking that will take place on Friday, September 30 from noon until 4 p.m. You'll hear and participate in discussions with industry pros. What does the future of music look like? You're sure to hear it all in this talk. Former guest include, Kathy Valentine from The Go Go's, Jerry Harrison from The Talking Heads, composer Jay Weigel and more. The location of this event is yet to be determine, but be sure to check back at lamusicprize.com for updates.

Friday night will wrap up with and Indie Collision Concert at Aura Lounge from 5 p.m. until midnight with The BlueBonnets, Kyle Craft and more.

On Saturday, October 1, it's the Mainstage Extravaganza on the Chase Stage at The Red River Revel. The fun starts at 5 p.m. and rocks until 10 p.m. This is where you will hear The Polyphonic Spree with the Music Prize winner opening for them. Finally, the closing party will take place back at Aura Lounge beginning at 10:30 p.m. until the place shuts down. Watch The Polyphonic Spree, Beach Slang, and K. Flay, all while saying cheers to another great year for Louisiana Music Prize.
