Where would most people move to for retirement? Many may say Florida, Arizona or even Texas, but are these states really the best for retirees? A new study claims Louisiana nearly tops the list of great retirement states.

According to the numbers and BankRate.com, Louisiana is actually the second-best state to retire to. Two big reasons are the state's low tax burden which is actually 4th-lowest in the nation and the warm weather. The average temperature is 66.7 degrees, only behind Hawaii and Florida.

One issue with Louisiana according to BankRate is the state's high crime rate. However, the pros outweighed the cons enough to place Louisiana number two.
