Louisiana Is America’s 8th Most Federally Dependent State
With the April 15th tax deadline rapidly approaching, WalletHub, the leading personal finance social network, conducted an in-depth analysis of the states that are most and least dependent on dollars from Uncle Sam.
In order to identify which states most and least depend on federal money, WalletHub looked at all 50 states using four key metrics: 1) the return on taxes paid; 2) federal funding as a percentage of state revenue; 3) the number of federal employees per capita and 4) the number of civilian non-defense federal employees per capita.
So, how dependent on the US government is Louisiana? Out of 50 states, we are the eighth most dependent!
