On her hubby's 44th birthday, Louisiana First Lady Supriya Jindal hosted an event at the Governor’s Mansion to fill care packages for Louisiana National Guard soldiers who are currently deployed overseas.

The packages will go to members of the 1023rd Engineer Company of the Louisiana National Guard.  The First Lady invited the Spouses of Members of the Louisiana House of Representatives, Louisiana Senate, Governor’s Cabinet and Governor’s Staff to assist her in assembling the care packages.

The unit, which is based in Oak Grove, LA will receive these care packages after being deployed overseas for the last three months; some of them are on their fourth deployment.  Items for the care packages were donated by Walmart, AT&T, New Orleans Saints and Pelicans, Community Coffee Company, Tony Chachere's, Point Coupee Pecan, and Aunt Sally’s Pralines.
