Louisiana Downs Racing Season Begins Friday

The 2012 live thoroughbred racing season begins this Friday at Harrah’s Louisiana Downs. The day’s events will include the simulcast of the Kentucky Oaks. Then, on Saturday, you can watch and wager on the Kentucky Derby. The racing season runs through Sunday, September 23rd, with Super Derby Day set for Saturday, September 8th. On opening weekend, there’ll be ten races each on Friday and Saturday and nine on Sunday. For the remainder of the season, there will be nine races per day with the exception of big race days and special events. First post time every day will be at 1:25.
