Stephen Waguespack, President and CEO of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the upcoming special legislative session and whether the session, called by Governor John Bel Edwards, will actually work on fixing Louisiana's seemingly endless budget difficulties.

Waguespack tells KEEL listeners that the special session can be more than an attempt by the Edwards administration to squeeze more more from Louisianans, despite the fact that the Governor controls the session's agenda. "Wags" says he hopes that "things to reduce "the size and scope of government" will be addressed, including "things to reform Medicaid...and to put a spending cap" on that ever expanding entitlement.

Bobby Jindal's former Chief of Staff adds that the success or failure of the session to deal with the state's financial problems depends "on who grabs the wheel...and drives this session."

Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty can be heard on 101.7 / 710 KEEL every weekday morning from 6 til 9, or on the free to download KEEL app, sponsored by Office Furniture Source.
